MISSION STATEMENT[]
To advance the Alpha Centauri Institute mission of scientific discovery through exploration by providing guidance,support, and expertise to members of the fleet who interact with other cultures.
AREAS OF INFLUENCE[]
- Cultural Contact Advising: The Diplomatic Corps (DC) will provide guidance and expertise to ACI fleet members involved in first contact missions.
- Social Science Research: The DC will promote social sciences research related to new cultural contacts and/or the study of ancient cultures and civilizations.
- Cultural Cataloging: The DC will establish a database of cultural profiles and work with the ACI Chief Librarian to make those available to ACI Fleet Members.
- Diplomatic Incident Mediations: The DC will mediate disputes with extra terrestrial governments in which ACI fleet members are involved and advocate on their behalf.

AVAILABLE OPPORTUNITIES IN THE CORPS[]
The Diplomatic Corps is looking for fleet members with experience/training in the following areas:
- Diplomacy: Are you a fleet member with previous experience in a diplomatic and/or political field? Do you have specialized training in making/maintaining cultural contacts?
- Mediations: Are you a fleet member with experience in interstellar law? An officer or crewman trained in dispute management?
- Research: Do you have an interest/training in a social sciences field such as Anthropology, Archaeology, Architecture, History, Linguistics, Political Science, Psychology, or Sociology?
- Cultural Archives: Are you a talented technical writer? Do you enjoy translating your fellow fleet members' experiences with new cultures into profiles that will help the entire fleet?
- Event Planning: Do you enjoy bringing people together to share new ideas? Do you like to host parties and other social functions?
